An Autumn Song by Pamela Beer was selected as a Finalist in the August 2019 BoldBrush Painting Competition.

Pamela is a contemporary mixed-media artist. Her paintings are vivid, colorful, spacious, and often abstract, yet are rooted in the simultaneous experience of her Southern heritage and her current life.

She makes use of strong lights and darks with distinct forms that imply found strength and joy. Her work is complex, layered, and evokes a sense of love for the beautiful whether in relationships, grace,  humans, and nature.

Her work begins with Asemic writing, forms, marks, colors, and employs both transparencies and opacities that ebb and flow onto the canvas allowing the viewer to connect with the abstraction of the work yet find something familiar.

Although no formal degreed art education, Pam has a Masters in psychology and a background in technology. Finding an end to traditional corporate work, she left her career in 2013 to pursue a lifelong love of art  and thus kindling her spirit through the creation of visual form.
Her paintings are featured in and around Puget Sound, she is a member of the Washington Women Painters, recently selected as a finalist in Cincinnati’s premier Art Comes Alive 2019, shows with the Lynn Hansen Gallery in Seattle, provides work for local hospitals, and presented work at the Seattle Art Fair. She pops up in other galleries in the Northwest.  She also blogs and teaches art workshops.

“Pam’s artwork is uplifting, colorful and highly imaginative, always providing enjoyment and hope to patients and staff in our many hospitals and clinics. Her sense of joy and her commitment to her sense of color and design just add extra enjoyment to everything she does. Thank you, Pam for all the healing that your artwork gives to the world.” Kathy, Art Consultant

"I commissioned Pam to create three paintings for me. When she revealed her work for me, I was so happy I got a little emotional. She really understood what I wanted and I loved them so much. I bought another two pieces!" Ilene

"I just want to send you a quick note to tell you how much we love your painting.  Stephanie and I find ourselves standing in front of it and just staring on a daily basis.  It is absolutely perfect.  " Luke and Stephanie

"I wanted to report to you that we had our girlfriend retreat last week... At the culmination of the retreat I presented everyone with a print of the artwork you did...  I can't tell you what a treasure they are. Everyone was emotional, thankful and surprised.  " Nanette

"Pam Beer is a magician! She can take a few ideas, preferences on colors, read your emotions and work magic with her art!  " Sandie
